Sunday February 18th 2018

The day was cleaner and sharper in feel; blue skies but a haziness pervaded.

I woke late and made my way to the square for cafe con leche and tostada con mantaquilla y melocóton marmalada… It was the only coffee shop open, so it was very busy, lots of people were sitting outside, a few of us inside as there wasn’t a table left in direct sunlight, and so it felt chilly…

I then set off into the mountains and enjoyed 24k of wondrous beauty… Moody storm clouds threatned me all the way, and the path became damp with misty grey… But it never rained and I loved the different mood of the mountains today.

I enjoyed a mixture of walking and running today, and as I was walking up a hill, Jack and Maggie came driving down the mountain in the other direction… They stopped, and we enjoyed a good catch up and discussion about our imminent adventure together across Spain…

Later on on the pathway four wild boar jumped out in front of me and crossed the path I was!

A powerful animal totem indeed…
